How can cross-border sales be made easier for craftspeople within the European Union? The European Crafts Alliance surveyed 768 craftspeople and small creative businesses to assess the impact of packaging regulations. The survey reveals that 58.5% of respondents report stopping, suspending or restricting their cross-border sales. Based on these findings, the ECA has put forward five recommendations to European institutions aimed at simplifying regulatory obligations for small craft businesses. These proposals notably seek to make administrative requirements and costs more proportionate to the volumes shipped, helping craftspeople access the European market more easily.
